Dr. Marie Monfils is a Professor and the Associate Chair for Research and Operations in the Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Monfils earned her doctorate degree at the Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience before completing her postdoctoral work at New York University. Her groundbreaking work seeks to develop behavioral approaches that can persistently weaken aversive memory following consolidation as well as conditions that examine the role of affiliative kinship in the social transfer of information. Dr. Monfils routinely publishes impactful work, and values transparency and creativity in experimental design.
Aside from her stellar scientific track record, Dr. Monfils is an avid advocate for those underrepresented or historically excluded from science. We are thrilled to welcome her as our distinguished speaker during this year’s luncheon to be held in Austin, TX, USA on September 23, 2023.
